C&K Podcast Feature Interview: Amanda Skawski & Alissa Giangregorio

Introducing Amanda and Alissa, our C&K featured interviews. We’re excited to share their COURAGEOUS & KIND story with you in this bonus feature!

An interview of God’s faithfulness through motherhood, infertility, special-needs children, marriage, friendship, love and life!

Amanda Skawski and Alissa Giangregorio are friends who met years ago the first night of Women’s Bible Study. When Amanda bravely shared her story of infertility with the small group, Alissa excitedly interrupted to say, “Me too!” and a friendship was built from there. These two mamas each share their lessons of God’s faithfulness through the journey of motherhood, IVF, special-needs children, and a love for family and friends.

In the interview, they remind us that our main goal as parents is to raise children to know and love the Lord - everything else is important, but secondary. They chat about letting dad be dad to lead and parent, the freedom of giving up trying to control everything all the time, and making space for God to work in His timing.

These two are both full-time working mothers and talk about the importance of not doing it all. Amanda and Alissa both agreed that as a mom you can’t do it all, but you can do the things God has called you to do.

It’s important to pick the areas of life where God has called you, and do them well. Be faithful in where God calls you to and choose to spend time there. In other places, ask for HELP! Choosing what you’re going to let go of to help focus on what God is saying yes to right now.

These two also agree their steadfast faith in the Lord comes from spending time in God Word and leaning into His promise of hope in Jesus Christ.

Alissa’s favorite Bible verse: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Amanda’s favorite Bible verse: “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5-6
